1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your account. We store this to identify your account and personalize your experience.

Email Access

With your permission, we access your Gmail or Outlook inbox using read-only access. We search for emails that may contain school or sports-related events — such as newsletters, schedules, and announcements. We only read email content; we never send, delete, or modify emails on your behalf.

Calendar Access

With your permission, we create calendar events in your Google or Microsoft calendar on your behalf — this is how extracted events appear automatically in your existing calendar app. We do not read, modify, or delete existing calendar events you have created.

Event Data

We extract and store structured event information from your emails: event titles, dates, times, locations, and descriptions. We do not store email bodies or attachments.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To display upcoming events on your Unfrazzle dashboard
• To send you email reminders about upcoming events (if enabled)
• To share events with family members you invite to your household
• To improve the accuracy of our event detection

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your email content for advertising.

3. Google User Data

Unfrazzle's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we use Gmail read-only access to identify and extract event-related information (dates, times, locations, event names) from emails in your inbox. We use Google Calendar access to create events in your calendar on your behalf. This data is used solely to populate your Unfrazzle event feed and calendar.

To extract events from email content, we send relevant email text to Anthropic (Claude AI). Anthropic processes this data only to perform the extraction and does not use it to train AI models or retain it beyond the immediate request.

We do not use Gmail or Calendar data to serve advertisements, transfer data to third parties for advertising purposes, or use data for any purpose beyond the core features described in this policy.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Family members: Events are visible to other members of your household that you have invited.
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (AI event extraction). These providers process data only as needed to deliver our service.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data and events for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual events from your feed at any time.

To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete my account. This permanently removes your profile, all extracted events, preferences, and notification settings.

To revoke Unfrazzle's access to your Google or Microsoft account without deleting your data, visit your provider's connected apps page (myaccount.google.com/permissions or account.live.com/consent/Manage) and remove Unfrazzle. You can also do this directly from the Settings page in the app.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token storage, and row-level access controls on our database. OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to access your inbox on your behalf.

7. Children's Privacy

Unfrazzle is designed for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Revoke Gmail or Outlook access at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy, or through your Google or Microsoft account settings
• Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete my account

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of Unfrazzle after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
